Client Profile
The clients are a young family who was looking for a classic kitchen design in Rye, NY. They purchased a home with the intent to add an addition, which would include a brand new kitchen.
Client Goals
After our initial consultation, we created a set of priorities and goals with the clients. Functionally, the primary goal was to improve the workflows in the space, with entertaining as their main priority. Second, they wanted to expand and integrate the seating more efficiently into the space.
Aesthetically, they wanted a soft, monochromatic, warm feel to the space.

East Hill created a design to use the space most efficiently. First, we created a large island. This allowed them to face their guests and family as they were preparing meals.
Second, we added a desk between the double oven and pantries, giving them a spot for the children to do homework without being distracted. We framed a large pantry behind the cooktop, giving us a large amount of storage without loosing much kitchen space.
Aesthetically, we used creamy, warm colors for all the finishes to pull the space together. An off-white cabinet, cream backsplash tile with light brown grout, finished with a white granite counter with black, grey and brown flecks.
